ATHLETES: Want brand partnership? Work on your pre-game…

What can Athletes do to improve their chances when shooting their shot for brand partnerships? 🙏

It's really difficult to stand out in the hundreds of DM's brand will receive. 🤷‍♂️

1️⃣ Build up to the pitch - take time to understand your target brand's goals, preferred content formats and ideal audience.

2️⃣ Buy some of your prospective partners product, share with your audience why you like it and tag them in the post. Do this more than once and don't push commercial messages.

3️⃣ Create interesting content that showcases the brand product in a cool way and drives high levels of engagement - a mix of what makes the product look good and what you know your audience responds well to

4️⃣ Research the brand objectives via their corporate website, brand values page and shareholder reports. Look on LinkedIn for brand employees and take note of what they post/like.

5️⃣ Craft a carefully written DM that uses similar language as the brand, outline what you like about the brand, where you have shared objectives and what you think you can bring that help them achieve their goals as well as your own.
